As society prevents the motivation to move:
- The boys of the city walking four times less than those who live in the city on a pedestrian.
- More the adults read the news that amplify and accentuate the facts of the crime, the more are intimidated and stay at home watching TV
- Children who no longer go to school on foot lose one of the first moments of individual training and adventure.
- TV, computer and internet limit opportunities for movement already reduced by the use of the car.
- In town to walk becomes a symbol of inadequacy and of belonging to a disadvantaged class.
