The main role played in sport by parents

More and more boys and girls choose the sport as a possible profession. In other words, they want to turn their passion for the sport in a future work, to athlete-job. Behind them often there are parents who do not believe that sport is only a leisure activity or a training for young teens, but they support this choice, because they want to give them the opportunity to live their passion. Certainly there are parents frustrated by their life that push in this direction, because they want to be realized through the success of their children, not having been able to live the life that they wanted. There are many others on the contrary accepting the choice and the claim because they want their son/daughter is really committed to something he/she perceives as important. Practicing a sport in a professional manner already 15 at years old means having little time for school, then it’s to find different ways to study without necessarily having to flatten out those private institutions that paying the fees you are assured of being promoted. Unfortunately, in Italy even the recent establishment of the sports high school  cannot solve this problem, because in many sports you are engaged either in the morning and in the afternoon and then the competitions also require long and repeated trips which are obstacles to regular attendance of school courses. Parents are necessary and central to the management of the young: to accompany training, to support economically the activity, having responsibility for the development of their children and then must figure out if the sport club and coach are appropriate for their child or if there are real reasons of dissatisfaction. There are also parents , as mentioned, inadequate to perform this role and this is the worst problem that a young can live, because we can change everything, but not mom and dad. In summary, for the parents to influence and guide their children in a responsible way is always challenging, to do this in sport is even more, because there is no such school organization which, with all its limitations , directs the lives of young people through school timing and homeworks. The parents, in my opinion , should be supported and helped by sports organizations to choose the best for their children and should beput in the condition to use experts from the sports world to face any difficult situation they may encounter.
